MH101® Online

Develop confidence to recognise, relate and respond to people experiencing mental health challenges.

Description

MH101® equips people to respond to people experiencing mental health challenges - both at work and in everyday life.

Our workshop

MH101® will give you an understanding of some of the major mental health challenges in our communities, the experience of mental distress, and the impacts of stress and trauma.

The workshop uses the Te Whare Tapa Whā model, which means we take an in-depth, holistic approach to understanding mental health and wellbeing. You’ll learn about what to do, and when, to support people around you experiencing mental health challenges.

  • Recognise impacts of mental health challenges.

  • Get an overview of some major mental health challenges, including depression, anxiety, psychosis and substance use disorder.

  • Learn strategies and get tools for maintaining your mental health, and the mental health and wellbeing of others.

  • Understand how your reactions can impact on other people’s thoughts, feelings and behaviours.

  • Learn how to use supportive language and perspective to build connection.

  • Learn how to respond wisely in any given situation, including the risk of suicideor self-harm.

  • Understand where, when and how to get personal and professional help.

After the workshop, you’ll get help to apply your newfound knowledge and develop an even better understanding of what you’ve learnt with access to an interactive MH101®® e-learning module that can be completed at your own pace.

Note:MH101® is aimed at non-clinical participants. This is not a clinical workforce training course.

MH101® online

MH101® will run as online workshop series over three sessions, providing participants with more flexibility to fit the workshop around their work schedule. Each session is 2 – 2.5hrs long.  Blueprint for Learning’s online sessions utilise the best of Zoom meeting technology to provide an interactive and engaging learning experience for participants. Participants are supported by two facilitators.

Our workshops are interactive and to get the most out of the sessions, you will need to have:

  • a stable internet connection.

  • your own device as you will be going into breakout rooms.

  • a microphone and camera connected to your device.

If there are multiple participants sitting in the same room, we recommend that everyone uses headphones or uses separate rooms. This stops any feedback or echoes on the online connection.

You are welcome to join the first session 10 minutes early, to troubleshoot your tech with our team. If you are unsure if you have suitable technology to enable you to participate in MH101®, please contact us  before your first scheduled session, so we can assist with your technology issues.

E-learning

Participants will be invited to complete a short interactive e-learning after attending the MH101®. These modules have been designed to reinforce some key learnings from the workshop.
